cover

To be honest the cutsey covers of this series doesn’t really do it for me. It doesn’t convey the deep emotion of these stories. Especially the emotion of book 2, which is my favorite. Though I really enjoyed 1 and 2 too.

plot

Ok so what are these books about, well its the story of these three sisters who have an eccentric mother and different fathers. They are not particularly close, but when their mother dies she leaves them this little bed and breakfast in this town called Lucky Harbor. Together with a little box of recipes of life their mom left, they find love and themselves, but most importantly each other.

I really love these small town books. I love getting to know not just the main characters, but the local watering holes and the small town people. I think Susan Mallery does a good job with these types of books as well. But unlike Susan’s books, which I find a bit slow at times, these books don’t lag and I found myself enjoying every minute of it.

writing style

Like I said above, Jill is great at getting to the emotion of the story. Scenes we described well, but there wasn’t pages of descriptions. I really enjoyed her writing style and have looked into other books by her.

characters

I LOVE LOVE LOVE the men of these books. And the sisters, and the town folk, seriously just everything about these books clicked.

pace

It didn’t go by too fast or too slow.

uniqueness

I would say there isn’t anything that is extremely unique about these books, but it was refreshing. With authors like Kristan Higgans and Susan Mallery, Jill has earned her place as one of my favorite contemporary romance writers.

Oooh! Which Lori Foster are you reading? I’ve only read her Men Who Walk the Edge of Honor series so far, and liked it. Not as much as I like Maya Banks KGI series when it comes to romantic suspense though.

Jess knows what she is talking about. She has never steered me wrong. I’m going to have to give Shalvis a try after I finish catching up on Richelle Mead ;)

Haha, Smutty Saturdays!  That is officially the best name for a meme ever.

I adore the Lucky Harbor Series!  It just got better and better with each book.  Shalvis is easily my favorite recent discovery.  She, Kristan Higgins, Sarah Mayberry, and Julie James are my favorite contemporary romance authors.  I’ve never read anything by Susan Mallery, but I will have to check her out!New follower. :)
