Top Ten Books That Broke Your Heart A Little

Happy Valentine’s Day! I hope everyone is enjoying vast amounts of chocolates and spending time with those they love, rather they be real or fictional :) The awesome people at The Broke and the Bookish are going anti-Valentine’s Day this year and listing the books that broke your heart </3

1. If I Stay by Gayle Foreman. Ah– I BAWLED over this book. Love the writing and the quotes. And Adam.
2. Where She Went by Gayle Foreman. Two words: Bridge scene.
3. Jellicoe Road by Melina Marchetta. I just featured this book on the last TTT, this story kills me. I just want to hug them.
4. Mockingjay by Suzanne Collins. WHO DOES THAT?
5. The Fault in Our Stars by John Green. I have several choice names for John Green- one being genius and the others being ones I won’t type out.
6. A Long, Long Time Ago and Essentially True by Brigid Pasulka. A beautiful story, but SAD.

And I would love have a talk with J.K. Rowlings and Sarwat Chadda about killing off my favorite characters left in right. And Jenny Han for creating two boys that I CAN’T NOT CHOOSE BETWEEN. Ugh.

How did I not put Mockingjay in my 10? I’m sure it will be well represented today.

Your reaction to Mockingjay mirrors my reaction exactly – WHO DOES THAT?!?

  • Diana

Totally agree with Mockingjay; after I read it I actually went on about how it made me feel things that a book shouldn’t make me feel, I love it when books do that, which is probably why this list was a pretty good one for me.
